Privacy Policy

Summary

We collect the minimum data needed to run Balance. We don't sell it, we don't show ads, and we don't share it with brokers. You can export or permanently delete everything from inside the app at any time.

Who we are

Balance ("we", "us", "our") is operated by Balance, registered in India. For privacy questions, write to support@balanceapp.in.

What we collect

• Account data: email, name, sign-in provider, and device identifiers needed for sync.
• Financial data you give us: expenses, accounts, categories, recurring bills, attachments, notes.
• Diagnostic data: crash logs, app version, OS version, anonymous usage events.
• We don't collect: contacts, precise location, browsing history outside the app.

How we use it

• Sync your data across your devices.
• Run the features you use — analytics, recurring bill detection, account balances.
• Send account-related emails (sign-in, security).
• Comply with applicable law.

What we never do

• Sell your data — ever, to anyone.
• Show third-party ads inside the app.
• Share financial data with brokers or analytics resellers.
• Use your data to train AI models.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest. Access to production systems is restricted, logged, and reviewed.

Retention

We keep your data as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your data from production within 7 days and from backups within 30 days, except where retention is legally required.

Your rights

• Access the data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate data.
• Export your data from inside the app.
• Delete your account and all associated data.
• Withdraw consent for any optional processing.

Children

Balance is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

We'll update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes are emailed to account holders before they take effect.
